Richard James Blue Obituary

BLUE, Richard J. - Of Dixon, IL and formerly of Durand, MI, died
Friday, November 25, 2011 at Provena St Joseph Medical Center in
Elgin, IL. He was 77 years old. He was born on May 3, 1934 in
Flint, MI, the son of Albert and Marion (Wotzka) Blue. He had
held several positions at General Motors in Flint and ultimately
became an independent business owner in Durand prior to his
retirement. He was a Veteran of the United States Marine Corps
and fought during the Korean War. He was a member of St. Anne
Catholic Church in Dixon. He was united in marriage to Marilyn
Whelan on July 7, 1961 in Tipton, MI. She preceded him in death
on January 3, 2009. He was also preceded in death by one son,
Richard Lyle Blue, and two brothers, Albert and William Blue. He
is survived by one sister, Mary Ann (Blue) Coggins, one son,
Richard Blue, and four daughters: Lynnette Blue, Catherine Blue,
Mary Blue Henneman of Hinsdale, IL and Denise Blue Ytsen of Elk
Grove Village, IL. He is also survived by seven grandchildren. A
private family memorial service is being held on Sunday.
